Carnival in Strasbourg 24th March 2024
The Strasbourg Carnival awaits young and old alike on Sunday 24 March 2024 from 3 pm to 6 pm. It's a day of celebration that is on the program of the Alsatian capital, to say goodbye to winter and hello to spring! Theme of the 2024 edition: Let's shake ourselves up and chase away winter!
As every year, a large cavalcade will take place in the city centre.
Traditionally the last in the region, the Strasbourg Carnival invites young and old to gather in the streets to chase away the cold and welcome the sunny days. Every year, the procession brings together many local structures invited to parade for the occasion.
The Carnival 2024 procession will leave on March 24, 2024 at 3:11 p.m. and will pass through several streets in the city center (about 2km). A colorful, original and musical show not to be missed!
Rolling or flying objects, costumed characters on foot and catchy music, the procession is dynamic and creative for this new edition.
Strasbourg Carnival 2024 entertainment
New this year, you will be able to participate in preparatory workshops upon registration before joining the Cavalcade. You can choose from:
- Juggling Workshop
- Rhythm and Percussion Workshop
- Dance / HipHop Workshop
- Fresco Workshop
Please note that registrations must be made before March 17, 2024.
The detailed program of the Strasbourg Carnival
- 1:30 pm - Start of the workshops: learn some rhythms or dance steps before joining the cavalcade and crossing the city with all the troops.
- 3:11 pm - Launch of the parade - Place de l'Etoile (rue de Vienne at the corner of the Cité de la Musique et de la Danse)
- 4 p.m. - Arrival of the first troops – Place Kléber
- 5 p.m. - "Bada Boom!" : the family party that makes all generations dance by Vladimir Sputnik and his team - Place Kleber
