Our sustainability commitments
The Hotel Suisse is an establishment that lives with the times. We recognize that climate change and environmental protection are the greatest challenges of our time.
As a 3-star hotel in the Bas-Rhin, we are at the forefront of the tourist scene in this region. Thus, we are concretely committed on a daily basis to the eco-responsible management of our activity.
Since 2014, we have implemented a series of actions to reduce our impact on the environment and to act in the interest of our community from a social and ethical point of view. This requires an optimized use of resources, thoughtful local connections and the training and awareness of our teams on relevant topics.
At the hotel
- Switching to 100% green energy at our supplier ES (from the Rhine Falls hydropower plant), which has resulted in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
- 100% recycling of cartons, plastic bottles, light bulbs and spotlights, discharged batteries, or printer cartridges.
- Reduction of electricity consumption thanks to the installation of motion sensors in the common areas of the hotel and the equipping of the entire establishment with LED bulbs.
- Preferred use of eco-responsible cleaning products, respectful of the health of our team and of the environment.
In the rooms
- Partnership with the local association Bouchons Bonheur 67 for the collection of all types of caps and coffee pods, which will be recycled in order to participate in the financing of assistance equipment for people with reduced mobility.
- Recycling of all plastic bottles left by customers, which turns into a donation for the association Oceans Without Plastics.
- Reduced water consumption thanks to water-saving tap aerators and adapted flow flushes
- Reduced water consumption by informing guests of the possibility of keeping their towels and bed linen throughout their stay as an eco-friendly gesture.
At breakfast
- Use of short circuits for our fresh products and privileged supply of regional and/or organic products.
- Almost total elimination of plastic and single-dose packaging.
- Partnership with the local start-up Sikle, for the recovery of all food waste and its transformation into compost.
- Sale of drinks only in glass bottles and mainly with deposit.
3-star hotel with the Green Key label
Our 3-star hotel located in the Bas-Rhin has seen its efforts in favour of sustainable tourism rewarded by the Green Key label, obtained in 2024.
The Green Key certification recognizes the commitments of touristic establishments to respect the territory, to promote responsible and sustainable tourism, without charging higher prices.
