Strasbourg and its historic centre
Ideally located on the Grande-Île of Strasbourg, the historic heart of the Alsatian capital city, the Hotel Suisse is the perfect starting point to discover all its treasures.
This old part of the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988 and is home to several nuggets of architectural heritage that are not to be missed. Visitors will be able to admire the Petite France district and its famous half-timbered houses, the Ponts Couvert classified as historical monuments, and its many museums.
The Alsatian Museum is also a must to discover the traditions and life of the inhabitants of this region from the seventeenth to the twentieth century. On the Quai Saint-Nicolas, a stone's throw from the Hotel Suisse, it promises an immersion into the past and culture of Alsace.
Strasbourg Cathedral, a majestic Gothic jewel, is visible from the rooms of the Hotel Suisse. This religious building is the major attraction of the city: culminating at 142 m in height, it is the second most visited cathedral in France after that of Paris.
A family destination: activities and tourism in Strasbourg
The Alsatian capital offers various activities to discover during a getaway with family, couple or friends. Bicycles fans will be able to explore the city on their two wheels. An ideal means of transport to roam freely in a city that offers one of the largest cycling networks in Europe and many bicycle parking spaces.
Not to miss is the visit of the town aboard a riverboat, whose pier is located a few steps from the Hotel Suisse.

Enjoy a moment of relaxation at the Strasbourg Municipal Baths, nestled a 10-minute walk from the hotel in a sublime building classified as a Historic Monument since 2017. This jewel of the Neustadt, inaugurated in 1908, has recently been restored to its former glory after major renovation works.
Epicureans will be able to take advantage of their stay in Strasbourg to taste the different wines that have made Alsace famous. The vineyards around the European capital produce famous Grands Crus every year (including Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewurztraminer).

Also, the local gastronomy should seduce more than one gourmet: sauerkraut, flammekueche, kougelhopf and baeckeoffe are Alsatian specialties to be tasted absolutely. Don't hesitate to push the door of the typical restaurants of Strasbourg, the famous "winstub", for an immersion in the regional culinary tradition.

Finally, an unmissable event every year, the Strasbourg Christmas market is one of the largest in Europe. Thousands of visitors flock to the Alsatian capital in December to admire the hundreds of chalets set up in the Alsatian capital.
The opportunity to discover Alsatian cuisine and crafts, and to explore the city adorned with splendid decorations and lights. The Cathedral square, located very close to the Hotel Suisse, is one of the highlights of the Christmas market.
