At Hotel Suisse we are convinced that climate change and environmental protection are the greatest challenges of our time.

Since 2004 we have implemented a series of actions to reduce our environmental footprint and to ensure that our social impact is in the interest of our community.

This is also thanks to an optimized use of resources, local connections and training and awareness of our employees on relevant topics.

 

  1. In the Rooms
    • Partnership with the local association Bouchons Bonheur 67 for the collection of all types of caps and coffee pods to finance assistance equipment for people with reduced mobility
    •  Partnership with the Sapocycle association for the collection and reconditioning of used soap for social purposes.
    • Water reduction thanks to water-saving tap aerators and adapted flow flushes
    • Water reduction by informing guests of the possibility of keeping their towels and sheets throughout their stay as an eco-friendly gesture

 

  1. At Breakfast and for the Tea Room
    • Use of a short chain for our fresh products and predilection of regional or organic products:
    • Fresh eggs from free-range hens from Kientz Farm
    • Kougelhopf, pies and pastries by pastry chefs Christophe Felder and Camille Lesecq
    • Committed and organic jams Mes mets dans les orties
    • The cheeses of Maison Lohro matured in the Vosges
      • Organic and fair trade teas and herbal teas Jardins de Gaïa
      • Local apple juices Autour de la Pommes from Bourg-Bruche
      • IPG Alsace honey of the beekeeper Trudersheim from Blaesheim
      • Committed Apple juice Moi moche et bon
      • organic spread Nocciolata from Rigoni di Asiago
      • Fresh bread and pastries from the bakery Au Pain de Mon Grand-père
      • Phasing out plastic and single-dose packaging
      • Partnership with the local start-up Sikle, for the recovery of all food waste and transformation into compost
      • Sale of drinks only in glass bottles and mainly with deposit
  1. At the Hotel
    • Considerable reduction in CO2 emissions thanks to the switch to 100% green energy at our supplier ES (from the Rhine Falls hydropower plant)
    • 100% recycling of all cartons, plastic bottles, ampoules and spots, discharged batteries, printer cartridges
    • Reduction of electricity by installing motion sensors in the common areas of the hotel and replacing all old bulbs with LEDs
    • Privileged use of eco-responsible cleaning products, respectful of the health of our team and the environment
